052 Wae Kelambu, Komodo, East Nusa Tenggara – School Eco-Library
Sr. Ronelyn, the headmaster of the Catholic school who’s originally from Davao, Phillipines, applied for our “green books” because it is mission impossible to find modern books for children on the island of Komodo.
Managed by Mr. Hendrikus, the main purpose of the library books here is to introduce the concept of reading for pleasure. The school is aware of the importance of environmental education as they encourage the kids to throw rubbish into the bins, make them take care of the school garden and organizes monthly walk to the nature and pick up the rubbish along the way.
Previous supporters have funded more than 60 Eco-Libraries across Indonesia. You can join the movement by donating today.
