078 Pasir Putih, Manokwari, West Papua – School Eco-Library
Mrs. Kambuaya is an Indonesian language teacher at SMP Negeri 19 Manokwari. In addition to teaching, she also runs a library at her house, in the outskirts of Manokwari.
She wants to help people in her village because most of them cannot read. The library is usually visited by school students and villagers alike.
To cater to the needs of readers from isolated locations, she cooperates with people from different villages and sets up small libraries. There are already 15 of them.
At the school Mrs. Kambuaya initiates environmental activities such as waste clean ups, waste management, tree planting, fertilizer making, bio pores etc. And she is looking forward to implement more Eco-Activities.
Previous supporters have funded more than 60 Eco-Libraries across Indonesia. You can join the movement by donating today.
